Research Consultant, Associated professor. Dept. of Anaesthesia & Intensive Care, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. Graduated from Aarhus University in 1980. Specialist in Anaesthesia 1990. Consultant 1993. Head of department 1999-2003. Since 2003 half time research and half time clinical work. Scientific and administrative nominations: Member of the board 1999-2001, Vice-president 2001-2004, President 2004-2007, Past president 2007-2010 of European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiologist. Honorary memberships of Association Latinoamericana de Anestesiólogos Cardiotorácicos 2005 and European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiologists 2015. Heart Group of National board of Health (1997-2011); Danish Heart Registry (1997-2011); Advisor to the National Health Insurance system (2007-2012); Speciality advisor in Anaesthesiology to the National board of Health (2012-) Journals and referee: Previous and present associate editor and member of editorial board in a number of international journals. i.e. European Journal of Anaesthesiology (2004-2007); European Cardiovascular Disease, Touch Briefings (2006 -); Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia (2008 - 2015); Open Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Journal (2008 -); World Journal of Anesthesiology (WJA).
