Analgesic

An analgesic, or painkiller, is any member of the group of medicine wont to achieve analgesia— relief from pain. The word analgesic obtained from Greek á¼€ν-, "without", and ἄλγος, "pain". Analgesic drugs act in different ways on the peripheral and central nervous systems. They are clear from anaesthetics, which reversibly abolish sensation, and include paracetamol (known within the US as acetaminophen or just APAP), the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like the salicylates, and opioid drugs like morphine and oxycodone.
